Hello, again! 👋
I’m Rita, an English to European Portuguese translator with a BA in Translation from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon.
Languages, storytelling, and the magic of connection have fascinated me since I was a child. I still remember being a brave little kid on holiday in the south of Portugal, where I made a new friend who spoke only French. Armed with nothing but a pen, paper, and curiosity, we spent hours on the patio between our rented apartments, playing, laughing, and building our own little world. That early spark of cross-cultural communication has stayed with me ever since.
Years later, I worked as a flight attendant for three years. Traveling the world introduced me to incredible people, cultures, and stories. This experience strengthened my cultural awareness, adaptability, and attention to detail; qualities that now shape the way I approach every project.
Today, I help brands, creators, and businesses communicate naturally and effectively with Portuguese audiences. My experience ranges from subtitling films for an international film festival to translating articles for a growing startup. I’ve also worked on website localization projects, adapting user interfaces, dashboards, automated emails, and call-to-action buttons to ensure they feel intuitive and culturally natural to Portuguese users.
I naturally grew into a copywriting role for a beauty company, where I was trusted not only to translate content, but to craft engaging, culturally adapted messaging that truly connected with customers.
Whether I’m working on audiovisual content, digital articles, or brand messaging, my goal is always the same: to deliver work that feel original, culturally accurate, and aligned with your voice.
