Hello, again! 👋
I’m Rita, an English to European Portuguese translator with a BA in Translation from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon.
Languages, storytelling, and the magic of connection have fascinated me since I was a child. I still remember being a brave little kid on holiday in the south of Portugal, where I made a new friend who spoke only French. Armed with nothing but a pen, paper, and curiosity, we spent hours on the patio between our rented apartments — playing, laughing, and building our own little world. That early spark of cross-cultural communication has stayed with me ever since.
Years later, I worked as a flight attendant for three years. Traveling the world introduced me to incredible people, cultures, and stories. I often found myself wanting to share those meaningful experiences and books I found along the way to those back home. That desire led me to pursue my passion more seriously and return to Lisbon to earn my degree in translation.
Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of working on a variety of exciting projects (from subtitling films for an international film festival to translating articles for a growing startup, and everything in between.) These experiences have only deepened my belief that great translation bridges not just languages, but people, ideas and community.
