This is an ongoing project with Plustrust, a Bangalore based NGO that has collaborated 🤝with Bahaar Foundation enable simple testing and diagnostic services in rural parts of India where these medical facilities 🤧 are not readily available 🚫**. The women living in these villages, are trained to work as Community Health Entrepreneurs** 👭**.**

The women were trained to conduct basic diagnostic tests 🩺**. But even after training, things weren’t moving in the direction of them achieving their independence. Were we even listening to them** 👂**? That’s when SiS came into the picture to design sustainable solutions to enable women to embark their journey towards their independence** ✅**.**

To gain a better understanding of the underlying issue, we dived deeper into their lives 🔍**. We conducted a thorough research in order to explore potential factors that may be impeding their ability to achieve independence.**

Upon analyzing national statistics, we observed a substantial disparity in the availability of proper healthcare services between rural and urban areas.

With this in mind, Plustrust aimed to empower women in rural India to bridge the gap of inaccessible healthcare in their communities and achieve holistic independence. However, they soon realized that the right intentions alone were not enough to enable these women. To truly make a difference, We needed to gain a deep understanding of their circumstances, obstacles, and sense of self. It became evident that there was a gap between the intended responses and the actual needs of these women that needed to be addressed.
