What is it & Why is it important
- Soul Window creates a space beyond tasks and roles, to focus on the humanity of the group
- The purpose of a group gathering can reduce a person to a function (worker, participant, etc.)
- Players get a clearer picture of the invisible internal lives of those around them
- People often put on masks when they interact publicly. At work we are expected to be "professional" and in other social situations, we might try to put forth an image of "having it all together". Explicitly inviting people to share what is happening inside of them right now allows us to tune into each other as full human beings, in all our triumphs and struggles.
- Soul Window is a way to check in on how everyone is doing on your group or team
How to use it / The Rules.
Each person in turn checks in by
- "Opening the Window" with your hands (do this however you want)
- Sharing what is going on inside right now (feelings, concerns, etc.)
- "Cleaning the window" by making a circular motion with your hands (everyone joins in)
- Optional: A question about how we can support/assist/undermine you today
- Video Examples of activities
