Gameplay

Someone tells a story about a time when one of their values was suppressed by the situation. This could be a "minor hell realm", such as waiting in line at the grocery store, an awkward family dinner, etc. They say which value was suppressed in the hell realm. Others in the group try to name structural features which, had they been changed, would have made it possible to live by the value, and how they might have gone about changing the structural feature.

Variations

• Live-Action Version. The person who describes the minor hell realm becomes the audience member. Someone else is the referee. Everyone else is a performer. Performers role play the hell realm. The member audience can "tap in" and try to "change the game". If they succeed in changing the game, there will be a new audience member, who can try to "tap in" and "change the game". The game is won when the referee decides that the minor hell has been transformed, and the value is no longer suppressed there. @Nathan Vanderpool

  <aside> 💡 TAPPING IN / CHANGING THE GAME

  1. The audience member picks a structural feature they are going to change, and tells the referee.
  2. They tap a performer and replace them.
  3. They do something, now that they are in the scene, that changes the structural feature they picked.
  4. Other performers continue to role play.
  5. The referee makes a note if the structural feature seems to be changed.

• Training Wheels / Heaven Version. It's slightly easier to play if you start from a place where the value is supported and find a structural feature that would sabotage it. p
