Hi, I’m Serhan Baydı. I’m a Digital Product Designer with over 5 years of experience. I’ve designed more than 50 mobile apps in areas like finance, social media, productivity and education.

In this guide, I’ll share what I’ve learned about creating paywall screens that convert. Clear, user-friendly, and built to generate real revenue.

Let’s get started.

🚀

Before you ask someone to pay for your app, you need to earn their trust. A great paywall doesn’t pressure users but clearly shows the value and helps them feel confident about subscribing.

Over time, I’ve seen how small design choices can make a big difference in conversions. But many apps still struggle with unclear pricing, poor layouts, or weak call-to-actions.

This guide is here to help you avoid those common mistakes and build a paywall that actually drives results.

âś… Be Transparent

No one likes surprises when it comes to pricing. Always be clear about a few key things: • How long the free trial lasts • What the user will be charged afterward • How much it costs, whether monthly, yearly, or any other option

If you’re offering a trial, it’s a good idea to send a reminder 24 to 48 hours before it ends. You can do this through a push notification or an email. This helps build trust and reduces cancellations from users who didn’t realize they were about to be charged.

Pro Tip: Use clear labels like “7-Day Free Trial, then $4.99/month” instead of burying details in small print.

The screen does a great job of keeping things clear and inviting with a friendly vibe by highlighting key benefits like "3 days free" and "we’ll notify you" to build trust while the playful design and straightforward "Start Free Trial" button make it super easy to jump in!

🎯 Highlight the Value

People don’t pay for features. They pay for outcomes. Instead of simply listing what your app does, focus on what users actually gain when they upgrade. • Will they save time? • Get better insights? • Unlock something exclusive?

Use short, benefit-driven bullet points or visuals to make the value clear at a glance.
