Location: Remote (European Time Zones Only)
About Scrapfly:
Scrapfly is a rapidly growing SaaS company providing a suite of powerful, reliable, and developer-friendly data APIs, including our core Web Scraping API, Extraction API, and Screenshot API. We empower businesses, data scientists, and developers worldwide to harness the vast potential of web data ethically and efficiently. We're obsessed with providing robust infrastructure, excellent developer experiences, and solving complex data acquisition challenges. We are constantly innovating and preparing to launch exciting new data products, further expanding our capabilities in making web data accessible. If you're passionate about data, APIs, and driving organic growth for a portfolio of technical products, join our ambitious, fully remote team!
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of SEO to build, lead, and execute our organic growth strategy. You will be responsible for dramatically increasing qualified organic traffic, improving search visibility, and establishing Scrapfly as the go-to resource for solutions related to web scraping, data extraction, and browser automation across our entire suite of APIs (existing and new). This is a critical role where you will own the SEO roadmap and its impact on lead generation and customer acquisition for our technical audience (developers, data professionals, tech-savvy businesses). You will report directly to the CEO/Founder and collaborate closely with our distributed team across Europe.
What You'll Do:
- Develop & Own the SEO Strategy: Define, own, and execute a comprehensive, long-term SEO roadmap encompassing technical SEO, content strategy, on-page optimization, and off-page authority building, tailored to Scrapfly's multi-product API portfolio.
- Technical SEO Mastery: Conduct in-depth technical SEO audits; identify, prioritize, and oversee the implementation of fixes and enhancements related to crawlability, indexability, site speed, mobile-friendliness, structured data, international SEO considerations (if applicable), site architecture, and log file analysis.
- Content Strategy Guidance: Collaborate closely with Content, Marketing, and Product teams to develop and refine an SEO-driven content strategy. Perform extensive keyword research to target developers and data professionals across the funnel for all our API products and relevant use cases. Guide the creation and optimization of high-value content (blog posts, tutorials, documentation, landing pages, case studies).
- On-Page Optimization: Implement on-page SEO best practices across the website, ensuring existing and new content is optimized for target keywords, user intent, and optimal search visibility.
- Off-Page Authority Building: Develop, execute, and manage ethical and effective link-building and outreach strategies to increase domain authority, build brand credibility, and drive referral traffic.
- Performance Analysis & Reporting: Define key SEO performance indicators (KPIs). Monitor, analyze, and report on SEO performance (rankings, organic traffic, conversions, visibility) using core tools (see Tool Mastery below). Translate data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- Competitive Intelligence: Regularly analyze competitor SEO strategies, content, and performance to identify threats and opportunities within the web scraping and data API landscape.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work effectively with Engineering, Product, Content, and Marketing teams to champion SEO initiatives, integrate best practices into workflows, and ensure SEO considerations are part of product launches and website updates.
- Stay Ahead of the Curve: Keep abreast of the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, industry best practices, and tooling, particularly those relevant to technical SaaS and developer marketing.
Who You Are:
- Proven SEO Expert: 5+ years of dedicated SEO experience with a demonstrable track record of achieving significant organic traffic growth and improving search rankings, ideally for a B2B SaaS company or technical/developer-focused products.
- Holistic SEO Knowledge: Deep understanding and practical experience across all core pillars of SEO: technical SEO, content strategy for SEO, on-page optimization, and off-page SEO/link building.
- Tool Mastery: Deep, hands-on mastery of core SEO and analytics platforms is essential. Specifically, you must be highly proficient with Ahrefs (or SEMrush), Google Search Console, Plausible for web analytics, and technical SEO crawlers (e.g., Screaming Frog, Sitebulb).
