We are looking to expand our Product & Tech leadership with a Head of Engineering, reporting directly to our CPO & Co-Founder. This position will be key to ensuring that we continue to build and design the most accessible products for all creators utilizing animation and motion capture tools. Our users span everything from global top-tier game, film, VR/AR, and VFX studios to indie creators in the booming creator economy. The Product and Tech department is responsible for the entire product portfolio at Rokoko. As Head of Engineering, you will have a crucial impact on Rokoko's engineering efforts building products with the most suitable technology that our users will love and that will enable us to reach new users and markets.
What you'll do:
- Lead a team of various engineering fields with teams primarily in Copenhagen (DK) and Athens (GR).
- Grow a healthy, collaborative, and productive engineering team in line with our values.
- Grow people and the team through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback, process, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Work closely with your "Product counterpart", being accountable for choosing and developing the right technology to deliver on the product strategy and vision. In other words, be a key part of defining the technical capabilities required to achieve the product strategy.
- Participate in the design of your team's systems architecture, making the appropriate trade-offs between quality, scalability, performance, and cost aligned with the team’s tech strategy.
- Grow the technical expertise of your team through technical leadership and advocating for sound software engineering practices.
- Lead and support the dedicated engineers who architect, develop, and operate our hardware and software products.
Who you are:
- You love to see things grow, and you thrive in navigating dynamic processes - you embrace challenges and celebrate wins as well as failures.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in leading and coaching individuals and teams within engineering.
- Proven experience leading the organizational and leadership challenges that come with scaling an engineering team in the scale-up phase.
- Knowledgeable and passionate about software development and tech stacks with an M.Sc. or B.Sc. in a relevant engineering field.
- Proven experience with applying agile software development practices to create high-performing teams.
