This is “Evil of Dracula” and I watched it right after 弟切草, still in a spooky Halloween mood, and this too was exactly perfect for that kind of setting! It was just the kind of classic horror movie I was feeling in the mood for, and with all the nice supernatural elements that weren’t there so much in the game. I’ve seen the two other entries in the “Bloodthirsty Trilogy” before, and they’re all in a similar Hammer Horror-ish vein, but this was definitely the one I came out of the highest on. That’s very likely mostly because I was in a maximally receptive mood, but this one also has the highest amount of Shin Kishida, an actor I love because of liking him in the Tsuburaya series Operation: Mystery and learning to spot his name in credits. I think he’s just great, and very well suited to be a sinister vampire principal guy here. The movie pretty much follows a new teacher arriving at a school for girls and finding that there’s sinister vampiric doings afoot, and it delivers well on gothic vampire horror.
