Case Study by Rizaldi Jamil

Overview

Background

I navigate some of YoRipe main features and I am interested in its Activity menu. But I saw that its feature is not applied to the maximum. There is still a potential to make it useful for our business goals.

Goals

Adding some improvement on the Activity menu and its feature, for increasing user’s activation and engagement.

Methodology

I use the First Principle approach for my problem understanding. I simply use Design Sprint for this tight-scheduled project. I remove any less important process and rely heavily on Lean Design. I believe these tools help me a lot, especially in the quick, fast-paced project.

Problem

Understand to Empathize

I start by trying to understand the business goals that we try to achieve. We need to increase our user engagement & activation. Engagement is about how we try to make our product known to our segment and activation means how to make our segment willing to use our product. I made a simple mapping below :

I mapping my analysis of understanding through my First Principle Thinking.

I think that our Activity menu could be improved. From the mapping above, I try to assume any possible pain points. I start by seeing several UI of the Activity menu below :

So far so good here…

Until I find pain assumption : no clear indication if this event is pricey or free.

I assume another pain : it’s quite difficult just to see event’s detail, or how to join it.

Another pain : sharing feature are not covering other opportunities.
