What is it?

start.city (pronounced start dot city) is the city in the cloud for young people in technology to navigate their journey together with intentional discussions and meaningful relationships with peers.

Why?

start.city is an open, honest, and real community to learn and grow together with other young people in tech.

the opportunity to form a community peers shouldn't be constrained to a physical city, employer, or school affiliation.

we're starting out and might be a little short on career and personal capital- we can all use a little help from our friends!

Community Values:

<aside> ๐Ÿ“ start.city will become the place you turn to when making career decisions, learn cool shit, and where you build trusted relationships with other young people in tech.

Kinda like college, but not. More like SF, with less gentrification, in the cloud. โ˜๏ธ๐Ÿš€

<aside> ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ Note for future Citizens: We'll bring new people into our city each week! We experienced a huge amount of inbound interest around launch, and we're expanding slowly to preserve a high-quality community and ensure that each member can have a great experienceโ€” it's well worth the short wait, and once we get the ball rolling, resources and discussions will be visible publicly! Please bear with us as we try to build something special :)

Who's it for?

Our City is committed to being a non-selective and inclusive community. Our only citizenship requirement is that you contribute to the community and uphold our values. That said, we do have criteria and community standards we expect our members to embody and uphold so that we can make this an amazing space for people starting tech careers. We especially encourage those from underrepresented communities in tech (Black, Indigenous, Latinx, LGBTQ+, and female-identifying) young professionals to join!

<aside> ๐Ÿšซ We are not the right community for you if you're currently enrolled in university and are not graduating within the next year. Intern.club is an amazing community catered to your needs. Feel free to sign up and we'll keep in touch for the future!
