Who we are
Ribbon Finance is a company focused on creating new financial structured products in DeFi. Our objective is to package complicated derivatives into simple financial products that are accessible by all, and through doing so help our users make money.
What we are building
Ribbon is focused on 2 main things:
- An amazing user interface that surfaces the best structured products, and simplifies the experience of investing in them.
- Creating an interface for users to purchase structured products off-the-shelf with one click.
- Simplify the language and math of these products — users should not need to think about options greeks, strikes, and so on. We need to simplify the value proposition of these products through position calculators and other visualizations of payoff charts.
- Create positive feedback loops for our users. How do we create products where our users are consistently winning, e.g daily/weekly products that have a high probability of paying a coupon? How do we enhance our users' ability to grow their wealth over time, by using options to manage the downside risk?
- Infrastructure for combining derivatives on-chain, to create arbitrarily complex payoff structures.
- Financially engineer useful structured products that fit our users' risk-return goals
- Creating scalable and modular infrastructure to combine on-chain derivatives in arbitrary ways. Plug into all major derivatives protocols to source liquidity for options, futures, etc.
- Create smart order routers to find the best prices for each derivative
- Develop primary liquidity pools for custom payoff structures that cannot be created from other protocols
- Explore ways to improve gas-efficiency of these constructions, which includes explorations of pooling, tokenization, and layer 2
Who we are looking for
Ribbon Finance is a small startup, and we are looking for self-starters with an entrepreneurial mindset. Our ideal candidate is:
- Someone with a strong interest in financial engineering, options trading, or quant finance.
- Familiarity with other DeFi protocols like yEarn Finance, Opyn, or Hegic.
Both our co-founders are fullstack and Solidity developers, and you will be working with them to build out Ribbon Finance.
