Infrastructures for Alternative Future Scenarios

"We study history not to know the future but to widen our horizons, to understand that our present situation is neither natural nor inevitable, and that we consequently have many more possibilities before us than we imagine."

Yuval Noah Harari

In an increasingly technology driven world, complexity, ambiguity and flux are altering our organisational, collective and individual lives while challenging societal norms in an unprecedented way. While technological progress is often associated with human-dystopia, REVISION helps to expand our imaginarium of future scenarios to cope with complexity and connect like-minded people for lasting collaboration.

Subject Areas include Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Climate-Change, Decentralisation, Digital Health, Future of Work & Education, Habitats of the Future, Mindfulness, Planetary Health, Regenerative Systems and Transhumanism.

A central part of the REVISION SUMMIT are REVISION's CIRCLES. CIRCLES are organized groups of up to 20 experts from different sectors who share a common purpose. Think of CIRCLES as inter-institutional think tanks. Experts from a vast variety of domains assemble during the REVISION SUMMIT to share their findings and align on common narratives in roundtable discussions.

Beyond this, the REVISION SUMMIT offers a progressive and co-creative platform open to the public, where the controversial tensions of our time are being addressed in meaningful ****debates to gather diverse viewpoints on the future.

The REVISION SUMMIT is directly followed by the REVISION FORUM which ****gathers delegates from all REVISION's CIRCLES, adding a last layer of focus to their work and allowing to go beyond information bubbles. In this spirit, the FORUM gathers the different viewpoints of the CIRCLES and aligns them beyond institutional boundaries. Collaboratively the delegates work on refining the proposed solutions of the Network for REVISION's Immanifesto which serves as a cultural north star to the Network.

The topic of REVISION 2.0 is: Infrastructures for alternative future scenarios.

Berlin, ****Europe’s tech-capital and one of the centers of world politics, offers the ideal setting for such a format: Not only has Berlin been one of the politically most dynamic places in the 20th century, from the avant-garde roaring twenties to post war socialism. Moreover, it has managed to attract a critical mass of scientists, future-fit tech-entrepreneurs, avant-garde thinkers, artists and responsible leaders from around the globe.

The city evolved into a tropical garden of greatly varying approaches to life, featuring subcultures out of many people’s imagination. REVISION captures this variety by integrating world politics, ground breaking technology, activism, science and art, offering truly unique perspectives on our common future.

The REVISION SUMMIT ****happens ahead of the World Economic Forum in Davos so that our international guests can conveniently plan their travels to Europe. The SUMMIT will be held in English, but means of translation and interpretation service will be provided.
