Announcing Juneteenth as a company holiday via Slack
Maceo Owens (OpenTable/KAYAK): We are hosting a virtual Block Party for our Black employees along with a few other companies.
Monica Spacciapolli (Atria Wealth Solutions): We are having a cooking demo with a chef that has roots tied to Juneteenth, it's a chance for learning and connecting over food and stories.
Joseph Arquillo: At my last company, I shared the following:
André Walcott (Advantis Credit Union): Someone on our DEI Council is developing a slide deck about the history of Juneteenth and its importance. Additionally, we have a Juneteenth celebration in Portland with the ability to have a vendor spot. So we decided that we will purchase a vendor spot and donate it to a Black-owned local business.
Carlin: I wanted to share one thing we're doing for Juneteenth. We reached out to this production group and received a code so any of our employees can register to watch the first screening of "Frederick" for free. Then, we'll be invoiced for all who used the code.
Dan Weinberg: Juneteenth is a holiday for us in the US, and we have different holidays based on regions - but, we don't recognize any other emancipation holidays elsewhere.
