TODO: put a tutorial here for creating team culture

Team Culture

  1. Psychological Safety: Our top priority is to foster a safe space for people to share their ideas without fear or judgement. We recognize that valuable ideas come from all team members regardless of previous experience. That’s why we have implemented systems to collect feedback on a regular basis about the well-being and feelings of psychological safety in our team. We use this feedback to improve our processes and better support each person.
  2. Autonomy: We value individual autonomy. Every team member has their own needs and preferences to allow them to thrive at work. We have a culture that allows people to make their own decisions about how, where, and when they can do their best and most creative work.
  3. Hard Work, Low Stress: This is a startup and hard work is often part of the job. That does not mean that things should be overly stressful or negatively affecting your mental health. It’s always ok to talk about your stress levels and mental health with your manager so we can come up with ways to better support you. We try to support every team member in having the work-life balance that they want/require in their own situation!
  4. Growth Mindset: Software development is not a linear process. It’s more like uncovering areas of a map. Even the most senior developers always have areas of technology that they have not yet explored. Learning and continuous growth are extremely important to stay relevant in the software development industry, so we support our developers with time and resources like course subscriptions and reading materials.
  5. Software Craftsmanship: Code is written once and read many times, so we emphasize the value of taking the extra time to write readable, maintainable code.
