Introduction 📖

The ReFi Ecosystem Regenerator is a 9-week program that runs every quarter ending in Gitcoin grant rounds. It exists to increase the amount of talent and capital flowing into startups building public goods at the intersection of impact and web3.

The program is radically inclusive in its aim to move forward the entire regenerative finance movement across climate, DEIJ, DeSci and activism. We believe each of these causes are integral parts of a global regenerative economy.

At the same time, the success of the program depends upon the quality of individual projects and their ability to make a real-world impact at scale. Our vision is to see radical collaboration become the catalyst for an ecosystem of innovation.

Vision

This ecosystem regenerator exists to realize the vision of a global regenerative economy that solves the problems of climate change, biodiversity collapse and social injustice.

  1. We need a global startup revolution with diverse local startup communities
  2. We need a network of experts with lived experience of these problems
  3. We need systems-level coordination between founders, investors and contributors

Overview 🗺

Below is an overview of the thesis, elements, principles, partners and structure that together form the ecosystem regenerator. This is an ongoing experiment with multiple feedback loops coupled tightly to a commitment towards publicly-verifiable impact at global scale.

Theory of change 𝌡

We believe that climate change, biodiversity collapse and social injustice will be solved by a global ecosystem of innovation that accurately values human and natural capital. This is dependent on a network of local communities that deeply understand their local ecology.

  1. Increase the number of actors
  2. Strengthen the quality of interactions
  3. Improve the depth of relationships

Elements of the ecosystem 🧬

The system is comprised of several social and technical building blocks which are improved upon incrementally each quarter by a number of working groups. When brought together, a powerful system emerges that attracts talent and coordinates capital to early stage projects with the greatest potential.
