I’m looking on bringing onboard the first external person to help build out Notes on Pakistan!
If you’re not familiar, Notes on Pakistan is a Substack that has mainly consisted of my opinion on the venture landscape in Pakistan as well as a regular(ish) roundup of the events in the ecosystem. After a few months of experimentation and 500 subs, it feels like it’s time to level things up.
You’ll be responsible for driving our new content verticals (interview, opinion, memo, deep dive) with regular input from myself. Most work will be remote and flexible but the role is ideal if you’re based in Karachi, able to work on Saturdays (in lieu of any week day), and occasionally travel within the city and maybe even country for research.
I’m looking for a self-starter and critical thinker with strong English and Urdu communication and an interest in business strategy, startups, and venture capital. This is a full-time 6-8 week effort with potential for a longer-term engagement - the successful applicant will receive a salary of 80K PKR per month, full credit for their work, and ongoing support breaking in to consulting, venture, or startups. I would especially be keen to hire current or recent university students.
