r/Competition Climbing Prediction Contests

How prediction contests work:

Entries

In order to enter, all you need to do is fill out the form with your Reddit username and follow the instructions to fill out your predictions. Everything you need to enter is on the form. All the options under the dropdowns are athletes who are registered for the event.

Each user can enter once. If you submit multiple predictions under the same username, we will use the most recent submission.

Currently, it is not possible to see or edit your predictions directly. However, if you’d like to make any changes or just see who you picked, please contact the mods via ModMail, and we’d be happy to send you a screenshot of your predictions or update them for you.

For most events in Lead and Boulder, the form will generally be open until 24 hours before the event starts. If an athlete withdraws within the 24 hours before an event, predictions will not be updated, unless the moderators decide otherwise. This is to ensure that everyone is affected equally and to avoid a situation where some people are able to update their predictions and others are not. However, these times may change depending on the event, and the contest may close later/earlier.

For Speed, the contest will be posted after the qualification round is complete. You will then have until 30 minutes before the finals begin to fill out your bracket with your predictions for the finals.

NOTE: Form closing times are subject to change at moderator’s discretion depending on the event schedule. Check the subreddit for the most up-to-date information.

Results & Awards

The results will be posted after the event ends.

The top three overall in each discipline (lead, boulder, speed) will be awarded a badge for their user flair. In order to be eligible for a badge, you must be a member of r/CompetitionClimbing and have an account in good standing (no suspensions/bans, etc). To avoid overcrowding, a maximum of one badge per discipline will be displayed on your user flair (usually your best result in that discipline).

(Note: if there are 5 or fewer entries in a particular category, we will only award a badge for 1st place)

These rewards might change in the future, so stay tuned!
