<aside> 📌 If it’s your first time using imapper, we suggest you to book a free training session in english on iMapper and its platform here:

1. Getting started 📖

The iMapper is an easy tool to use and you will have all the experience you need after a few scans. We will guide you step by step to make it your favorite tool. Follow the boarding process below, it will take you 20 minutes :

Instructions (2 pages, 5 min)

Video demo of the main functions are presented here below (FR, 3 min 2x speed):

Make your first scan (15min)

  1. Position the iMapper on the tripod

    1. The foot of the iMapper goes directly into the plate as on the photo, you do not need to use the adapter.

    b. Unfold the entire camera tripod (including the center tube, which unfolds into 2 segments).

    c. Put the tripod horizontal. You don’t need the bubble-level since it may be less precise than looking with naked eye where the imapper will take the scan on the wall. Usually, randomly positioning the imapper is enough, but you can rotate imapper rapidly before the scan (p.4 in the Instruction Guide).

<aside> ☝ If walls are vertical (it’s not the case if the walls are out of plumb), the error due to a not perfect horizontality is not that important (+3mm if you are above the horizon line of 10 cm at 3m distance).

    d. verify that all the screws of the tripod are tightened well so that there won’t be error during the scan.

    e. verify that the SD card is well inserted into your iMapper. You can use different SD cards from the one provided (format in FAT32 and smaller than 16 GB)
