Driven by the absence of hawker–style restaurants south of the river, the founders of Commune Group launched their first Vietnamese style restaurant, Hanoi Hannah. Created with a ‘for you, by us’ ethos, it quickly became a Melbourne favourite, focusing on Vietnamese street–eats. Hanoi Hannah has since grown to include two sibling restaurants: Hannah Hannah Express Lane and Hanoi Hannah Vol.II in Elsternwick.
