  1. Smile. Pause. Breathe.
  2. Begin with praise.
    1. That’s a great question.
    2. That’s a smart question.
    3. I am so glad you brought that up.
    4. I’m glad you mentioned this.
  3. Speak slowly and user fewer words.
  4. End your sentences with a statement. This will not allow any unnecessary questions.
    1. Why don’t we...
    2. Let’s do this...
  5. Speak in bullet points.
    1. I need 4 things from you. One, do _____; two, get ____ done; three, follow-up with ____ and lastly, make sure to _____.

Never assume, make an ass out of both of us.
