Speaker: Nicole van der Hoeven

In software engineering, the first step towards making a system reliable and performant is not to immediately start making changes to improve it. The first step is to make the system observable as it is. Observability is being able to see what's going on inside the system, and that requires exposing parts of it. After all, you can't change unless you know what's wrong with what you've already got.

What if we could make our PKM systems observable?

In this talk, Nicole draws upon concepts from the tech industry and applies them to how she uses her PKM, centred around Obsidian-- but you don't need to be either a techie or an Obsidian user for this one! She discusses different ways to expose what we're writing and thinking about by working with the garage door up, prioritising openness and transparency over perfection and expertise... and doing it all in public.
