The binary trap occurs when we tend to think in terms of "either-or" “one-vs-another” instead of thinking probabilistically and considering the full range of possibilities.

Maybe (~50%) thought: This may also have a positive effect when a complex theories got simplified by a combination of a few simple answers (See Forceful interpretations in Epistemology). This may be particularly visible in Conjunction fallacy when a simpler and more vivid answers are stronger attractors.
