PassLock is an application software designed, developed, tested and operated by independent developer Melo Dreek (hereinafter referred to as "we"). It only runs on iOS and macOS operating systems and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, Mac and other hardware devices. In order to explain how PassLock collects, uses and stores your personal information and what rights you have, we will explain one by one the types of your personal information we collect and their corresponding uses so that you can understand what we do for a specific function. The specific categories of personal data collected, the reasons for use and the manner in which it is collected.

一、Information we collect

When you use the PassLock service, PassLock will collect information that you actively provide when using the service or that is generated due to the use of the service in the following ways to provide you with services, optimize our services and protect the security of your account:

  1. When you use the PassLock service, we only use the account system provided by Apple, that is, the Apple ID login method to register or log in. The Apple ID login method may require you to share your nickname and email. Of course, you can also choose to hide this information. .
  2. When you use the PassLock service, you can set a personal avatar and nickname, which are only used for the appearance of the App and to distinguish information between multiple Apple IDs (if you have multiple Apple IDs).
  3. Our products use FirebaseAnalytics, the details are as follows: · Use SDK name: FirebaseAnalytics. · Purpose of use: statistical usage data, application crash, performance monitoring, etc. · Types of personal information collected: device information (IMEI/Mac/android ID/OPENUDID/GUID/SIM card IMSI/geographical location information). Link to Firebase's privacy policy: Privacy and security in Firebase.
  4. When you use PassLock services, in order to ensure your normal use of our services, maintain the normal operation of our services, improve and optimize our service experience, and protect the security of your account, we will collect your device model, operating system, and device information. Language and region, PassLock software version number, network access method, type and status, network quality data, operation logs, service log information (such as the number of times you use PassLock, time, etc.) and other log information, this type of information It is the basic information that must be collected to provide services.

二、Information we absolutely do not collect

As PassLock is a password manager APP for individuals, families or small organizations, we understand the importance of passwords and other private information to users. Therefore, we use various methods to avoid collecting and storing users' accounting and financial information.

  1. PassLock does not set up a server to store any user data. We do not even have our own server. It is a product completely rooted in the Apple ecosystem.
  2. All data is only saved in the user's local device and the user's personal iCloud space (it will be stored when and only when the user turns on the iCloud service provided by Apple).
  3. You can disable the iCloud service provided by Apple or when iCloud cannot be used properly due to insufficient space or other problems, the data will still be stored in the local terminal device. If the data stored in the local terminal device is lost (uninstalled, manually cleared), it will not be found. Return, cannot be restored. We will not be responsible for your uninstallation of applications or manual clearing of local data, as this is an irreversible action. This is why the App recommends that you use iCloud synchronization. Although it will occupy your iCloud space, this is the safest approach. You don’t have to worry about data leakage. Distributed storage and AES256 encryption provide you with strong privacy protection. For detailed information, please see other articles in our product documentation.

三、Information storage and security

  1. Location of information storage: We will store users' personal information in the country or region where the Apple ID is located in accordance with Apple policies and regulations. The specific address will depend on the base of Apple's global database. Even so, if Apple staff want to read your data (although this is impossible), they will only read our AES256 encrypted data (normal text, pictures, etc.). If someone wants to violently decrypt data, given the current technical level, he may need to start working from the Big Bang. We have explained the specific reasons in detail in another article. Please refer to 「🔐How to ensure the security of data?」.
  2. Information storage period: Generally, we only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill our purposes. When our products or services cease operations, we will notify you in the form of push notifications, announcements, etc., and delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period.
