Hello, strategic person,

this is a brief outline of a freelance gig with and for Overnice – a Berlin-based creative studio specializing in branding, product design, and UX/UI for VC-backed tech startups.

😎 About Overnice

Overnice is a brand and product studio. Our work spans brand strategy, visual identity, UX and web design, copywriting, and custom development. We don't separate brand from product: everything we do is rooted in strategy, we look at things holistically, we think than act.

Our clients are typically, but not exclusively, U.S. based (or at least funded) early-stage tech startups. Check the website for references.

Our team is rather boutique (meaning small) with two founders, three designers, one developer and one PM. We speak and work in english.

Generally speaking, we care a lot about our output and quality. It’s what we need you for!

🗺️ Context of the engagement

Tammo, one of the founders, is going on a three-month parental leave. It will be your task to take over his client-related strategy, concept, and copy task.

Strategy and concept are what enable everything else at Overnice. Our designers are mostly senior and own their projects end-to-end. We also have in-house frontend development: React, Next.js, Vue, Svelte, Framer, whatever fits the project. But none of that moves without a strategic starting point: positioning, messaging, a concept direction, and website copy. Without that, design and development either stall or drift, it will be your job to keep these things (strategically on track).

While you will be working closely with the team, Tammo will be available for questions and even support. It just might take him a while to get back.

You will start and end with some overlap to ensure a smooth transition.

🔭 Scope of the engagement

There won’t be a specific set of projects during the three months. You will be the go-to person supporting all active and up-and-coming projects with your expertise in the following categories:

Brand strategy

You’re the strategic and conceptual brain behind branding-related efforts. This includes coming up with a brand strategy, based on client and market insights.
