Overview:

The Content Promotion Strategist works with client teams to own the end-to-end research, conceptualization, and promotion of content. Primarily, they're focused on driving short-term traffic from social and community channels.

The ideal candidate understands how content promotion works at a strategic level. They know that promotion is just as important as the content itself—and that content promotion actually starts with the content you’re creating in the first place.

There are 4 main functions:

1.) Channel Research & Strategy

Content Promotion Strategist should be able to research and identify community and social channels for each individual client based on their target audience (private and public communities, subreddits, newsletters, etc.).

2.) Content & Promotion Planning

Content Promotion Strategist provides channel and audience research insights to help plan client content.

They'll work with client strategists to suggest and steer content ideas, align content-channel fit, and define content promotion goals. They will also create unique content promotion plans for relevant content.

3.) Execution & Coordination

Once the content is published, the Content Promotion Strategist will execute the unique promotion plan, collaborating with the other members of promotion for help or coordinating with members of the team to help plan and push engagement in social communities.

4.) Promotion Analysis & Documentation

Content marketing and content promotion is an evolving sport.

The Content Promotion Strategist tracks and analyzes the results of campaigns and builds a feedback loop for the team.

They’re responsible for identifying the most effective tactics and channels, as well as developing new promotion playbooks, documenting strategies into these "playbooks", and carrying that learning into future projects.
