Proposed POP Meeting template:

Purpose: What is the purpose of this meeting?

Outcomes: What could/will be be the outcomes of this meeting?

Process: What processes will we use? e.g. discussion, pop-corn discussion, whiteboard etc.

Purpose: To discuss the 'design pipe' and gain a shared understanding of the needs and concerns around adding complexity to the existing pipe processes.

Outcomes: A shared understanding of where we are with design pipe discussion, some actions following the discussion, a clear understanding of what still needs discussion, who hasn't been invited and needs to be part of the discussion. Every attendee has shared at least one idea or thought on the topic.

Process: Solo muted reading time, roundtable or popcorn discussion, typing and documenting your thoughts in writing here.

How do we define 'design' in OFN by the designers at OFN 😉

Eriol, Sue & Mario define design as the things that a person interacts with around a project or tool or experience which can mean design research, design exploration, design insight, stakeholder discussion, a person's feelings or experience through to 'tangible seen' stuff like user interface, graphics, documents, writing, copywriting, content, graphics, illustration, motion graphics, interactions, accessibility.

Designers and design can be at different levels and of different experiences and not all designers do all these things. This also plays into priorities!

Who do designers work for?

Designers work for the users of a service, platform or product. Designers work to improve this for users and are accountable to those users. If the users are not being served, design is not doing it's job well. If I design something badly, it's the users who suffer first, then the organisation.
