Whilst subjective to some degree, we have reviewed and audited 100’s of Career sites between us over the years and when thinking explicitly about transparency, we have built out a clear picture for what we believe ā€˜great’ looks like.

The below sections should act as a guide for the key components we believe should make up a best-in-class careers site.

This can all too often become either too corporate, or too cheesy, and there’s a fine line to walk, but, there’s two examples below we wanted to share to highlight what we think great looks like and what not so great looks like

They should:

āœ” Be unique āœ” Tell a story āœ” Mirror your personality āœ” Convey a message

They shouldn’t:

āŒ Use stock actors āŒ Sell too hard āŒ Be packed with buzzwords āŒ Confuse

This video remains with you after you’ve finished, isn’t too serious, but crucially conveys a message. It shows the viewer that the team are laser-focused on delivering for customers at all costs, even if it means working outside of typical hours at times. The power of a team pulling together to make something happen. We think it tells a great story.

šŸ‘Ž Lightspeed

This video builds less of a connection. You don’t really get a proper sense as to purpose and there’s a lot of one-liners that don’t really mean anything or tell a story, which isn’t helped by the video itself not telling a story. It’s not so clear at the end what the company actually does.
