For XR to create a fake scenario on a national scale that replicates the effects of climate change 10+ years in the future by shutting down strategic areas that would be effected as if the future was in the present. Recreate the scenarios like it’s a massive theatre production and multi layered campaign that shows people the reality of climate change in the way thats present, dramatic and in line with XR's approach. Using the disruption to bring them into a story.

Plan

Gather a group of climate, social, economic and political experts to come together and create a narrative of what is likely to happen in the next 10-20 years.

From this you make a detailed online showcase of the future that’s open for others to add to given they can sufficiently back it up with a strong argument. Experts vote on the likelyhood of the scenario for it to be added to a national narrative.

Using this same framework the process can be extended to other countries. Each expert verifying more experts in their field of study. Through an open system for contribution the national narrative can be expanded on towards a global narrative of prediction.

The end result is an online interactive storyline of what could happen in the future given our current direction and the impact on the climate.

The next and most important stage would be to draw attention to this story in a way that brings it home.

Non violent demonstration of the future in the present.

XR and affiliate organisations would begin implementing the results of the prediction brought forward by a set number of years.

Food shortages hit the UK due to crop failure? Key supply chain areas are disrupted to create the effects.

Flashmob type of stagings could be held. Protests about something specific that hasn’t yet happened. Creating an intrigue in both the public and the media to understand the chain of events leading to that outcome.

They could be of a huge variety of scales. Those moved by the cause could suggest and execute entire scenes around other main crisis points. Symbols could pop up in the name of plausible but fake organisations or groups that could likely form in the future.
