Q: Who can participate? A: Anyone! The event is open to gym members, their friends, family, and the general public. You don't need to be a PHL Athletics member to compete or spectate.
Q: Do I have to compete in all four stations? A: Nope! You can choose to compete in 1, 2, 3, or all 4 stations. It's completely up to you and your comfort level.
Q: What if I'm a beginner? Can I still compete? A: Absolutely! We've selected movements that are accessible for all fitness levels. Beginners can focus on participation while experienced athletes chase big PRs.
Q: When does athlete registration close? A: October 31st. After that, you can still register as a spectator up until event day.
Q: What's included in athlete registration? A: Event access, exclusive PHL Rep Wars t-shirt, participation in your chosen challenges, plus complimentary food and drinks throughout the event.
Q: How much does it cost? A: Athletes: $35. Spectators: $10. Kids under 12 get in free!
Q: What are the four challenges? A: Clean & jerk complex, max burpees to target, max wall balls, and max calories on the rower.
Q: How long is each challenge? A: You have 20 minutes to establish a max for the complex. All others are 5 minutes each.
Q: What should I bring? A: Just yourself! We'll provide all equipment. Bring water and a positive attitude.
Q: Will there be food and drinks? A: Yes! Food and drinks will be available throughout the event.
Q: How does the pledging system work? A: Supporters pledge money based on athlete performance (like $1 per burpee or $1 per pound lifted on the complex). Athletes collect pledges before or after their events using our online pledge form.
Q: How do I pay my pledges? A: You'll receive a link after the event to pay online, or you can pay cash or Venmo on-site.
Q: Can I pledge on multiple athletes? A: Yes! You can sponsor as many athletes as you'd like.
Q: Where does the money go? A: 100% of proceeds go directly to No Stomach for Cancer, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Q: What time should I arrive? A: Check-in opens at 8:30 AM. Opening remarks start at 9 AM.
Q: How will I know when it's my turn to compete? A: We'll have a printed block schedule posted at the front of the gym, and your block number for each workout will be listed on your athlete score card that you receive at check-in.
