How to get started
Follow these steps to get familiar with Notion fast. They'll give you the building blocks to set up any documents or tools for your team.
Step 1: Get to know your workspace

A. Sidebar
- See all the pages in your workspace, including nested pages.
- Drag and drop to rearrange anything.
- Pages under
Workspace
are shared with your team.
- Pages under
Shared
are viewable by you and select others.
- Pages under
Private
are for your eyes only.
- Favorite any page to pin it at the top for easy access.
B. Editor
- Create any content you want. Just start typing.
- Every page is a blank canvas with a title where you can add text, images, to-do lists, databases, and more.
- The top left breadcrumb shows where you are in your workspace.
- The controls at the top right let you share the page, favorite it, change the format, delete it, see version history, etc.
C. Settings
- Click
Settings & Members
for your workspace controls.

My Account
to edit your name, email and photo.

Members
to add more teammates to your workspace.

to upgrade to a Team Plan 🙌
