We have a holistic perspective on Ethereum as a maturing software development platform. We're tackling the big components across the stack as well as building new foundations for the long term. This means developer-facing tools, libraries, frameworks, and very low-level building blocks to catalyze further growth in the tooling ecosystem. Nomic Foundation projects

Our team handles two responsibilities: the Hardhat development environment and our low-level infrastructure projects.

Regarding Hardhat, we develop low-level compiler-based tools with Solidity and the EVM at their core. Today, these projects are:

• Hardhat Network Our flagship development network: a local Ethereum network with advanced development features.
• Hardhat Runner Our task runner acts as the coordination hub across all components through a flexible plugin architecture.
• Hardhat VSCode Our Visual Studio Code extension provides type-smart editing assistance for Solidity, currently in private alpha.
• Hardhat Ignition Our deployment system for structuring, automating, and distributing smart contract deployment setups, currently in private alpha.

New projects we're starting:

• Rethnet A reusable debugging runtime s a Rust library designed to be the backend for tools that provide debugging information to developers. It will directly provide console.log, stack traces, code coverage, gas profiling, and a step debugger.
• Slang A Solidity tooling compiler to enable advanced editing assistance and reliable runtime observation in Rethnet.
