Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 6, 2026

This privacy policy describes how the Chrome extension ("Snapsave") collects, uses, and protects your data.

Data We CollectAuthentication Information

We store an authentication token in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.sync) to keep you logged in. This token is used solely to authenticate requests to our server. We do not collect or store your passwords.

Web History

When you click the Extension icon to save a bookmark, we collect the URL and pagetitle of the currently active tab. This data is sent to our server and stored in your account. The Extension also reads your browser's bookmark tree to display bookmarks on the new tab page — this data is read locally and is not transmitted to our server.

Website Content

When saving a bookmark, the Extension extracts the Open Graph image meta tag and the favicon from the active page to generate a thumbnail preview. This data is sent to our server alongside the bookmark.

Data We Do NOT Collect

How We Use Your Data

All collected data is used exclusively to provide the bookmarking service:

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to the bookmarking service.

Data Storage

Bookmark data is stored on our server hosted at Railway. Your authentication token is stored locally in your browser via chrome.storage.sync.

Data Removal

You can remove your locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the Extension. To request deletion of your server-side data, contact us at the email below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
