Role brief:

Newton Venture Program is looking for an organised, self-motivated and diligent Community and Events Coordinator to join a fast-paced, collaborative and inclusive team delivering high-quality online and in-person venture capital training and development programs. The Community and Events Coordinator will primarily focus on engaging and bringing together our ever-growing global community through events (virtual and in-person) and support the delivery of our product portfolio by owning the responsibilities outlined below.

Company Overview:

Newton Venture Program is a joint venture between LocalGlobe VC and London Business School, providing world-class programs for aspiring and practising professionals in venture capital. Newton’s mission is to level the playing field for people from typically overlooked backgrounds - ensuring that the next generation of venture investors represents the world we live in by making the practice of venture capital and technology transfer globally widespread and accessible.

Responsibilities:

There are two strands to our community. The community first builds during the learner’s time as part of the program cohort. The second is the wider Newton community the learner becomes part of as they transition to becoming part of an alumni, once the program is completed.

Community Engagement

• Community building;
  • Facilitate networking/peer fellowship groups within the cohort/s
  • Organise experiential activities, alumni events and visits to relevant ecosystem partners
  • Support head of marketing with social media management and blog writing
• Enhance the Alumni experience, including;
  • Organising and delivering virtual and in-person events
  • Sharing up-to-date resources, events and information
  • Continuing the engagement of our alumni with Newton

Program Administration and Processes

• Owning the integral administrative tasks assisting the successful delivery of our programs

  • Organising travel, food and logistics to enable successful in-person delivery of the Newton Fellowship program (including key operational processes such as organising travel, food and logistics to enable successful in-person delivery of the program)
  • Ensure suitable suppliers are engaged, ensuring quality and value for money.

• Develop well-defined processes to ensure the successful delivery of our programs.

• Maintenance of the Learning Management System with the potential to work with the product team on developing the LMS further,

  Customer Experience

  • Address customer queries and support the decision-making process of potential learners
  • Support the application processes of programs, working with the marketing team to inform external marketing of timelines and delivery dates
  • Provide outstanding customer experience on programs delivered, organising and managing program logistics and understanding customer needs and requirements

  Note:

  Attendance is expected at live deliverables:*

  Newton Fundamentals: Once a week in the evening over 8/10 weeks, twice a year

  Newton Fellowship: In person ****12-15 days a year which are long working days

  • These dates will be communicated well in advance

About you:

Newton’s Community and Events Coordinator should have 2-3 years experience in events management / program and/or project management delivery over six months or more or similar. Process and operationally sound, and a track record of delivering at pace to a high quality. Experience working in an executive educational institute or start-up is desirable but not required. The role will give you exposure to venture capital and executive education ecosystems and have numerous growth opportunities to learn and develop as Newton scales its product offerings.

• Project and prioritisation management experience or working as part of a project team
• A proactive, flexible, transparent, creative, and enterprising approach to work
• Interest in the tech ecosystem and disrupting the status quo

Compensation Expectations:

£30-35k depending on experience
