What is a lesson?

A lesson consists of a combination of instructional videos narrated by a lesson host and assessments. Lessons fall into the following four strands, or categories, of news literacy education:

When a student completes a lesson from within their student account, their work is saved for their teacher to evaluate. Click here to learn more about evaluation.


What is an element?

When viewing a lesson from the teacher perspective, you can navigate the lesson's elements (or slides) using the dots on the bottom of the screen or by clicking the "Next" button:

Student accounts are unable to use the bottom navigation to progress within a lesson. They must complete the task required on each element and then click "Next".

The "Element #" is the number on the bottom right hand side of the lesson:

What is the Word Wall?

The Word Wall is where news literacy vocabulary terms live. Click the "WW" on the bottom right of any lesson in a student or teacher account to access that lesson's vocabulary:
