Implementation strategies

This lesson works best with students working individually or with a partner. Teachers can also facilitate this lesson as part of a whole-class discussion using one-to-many mode.

For discussing the watchdog role:

• Share what you would do with footage of a significant event

For analyzing the watchdog role:

• Research the relationship between citizen watchdogs and journalists

For exploring the watchdog role:

• Make a Freedom of Information Act request
• Hold a citizen watchdog accelerator event
