Implementation strategies

This lesson is effective across multiple classroom formats. Students can complete this lesson individually, with a partner, in a small group or even as part of a whole-class discussion. however it is most effective when students can discuss examples and concepts embedded in the lesson.

For identifying arguments and evidence:

• Flag logical fallacies in the media

For discussing arguments and evidence:

• Classroom discussion prompts

For creating the news:

• Write a response to a published opinion piece
• Write an opinion piece to raise awareness about a local issue
