A prototype is anything that allows you to quickly and cheaply test your assumptions and get feedback from your users to enhance the final product or service.
Questions to ask before:
Once you’ve determined the below, you’ll have a better understanding of what your prototype needs.
- What is the purpose of my experiment?
- What is the idea or hypothesis I want to test?
- What assumptions do I have about my idea?
- What are the things I’m trying to learn?
- What behaviours or outcomes indicate success or failure?
- What are my measures of success?
Ask the user:
- What can we do to this “product” to make it the best “product you’ve used in your life.
- I didn't design this, our designer did and he'll just get a destillled version of your feedback you provide. Please feel free to be critical, no one in this room is directly related to the design.
