Welcome to our (small scale) beta program’s documentation. Please read all of the following before attempting anything (we’ll keep it short!).

🤔 The why

As Bonjourr gets more and more complex with each version we publish, it becomes harder and harder to keep track of every possible situation. This is why we’ve recently had issues with users losing some of their data (mainly links or notes).

The goal of this program is to lower the chances of our users losing data or encountering breaking bugs. Documenting small bugs will also be welcome, but the focus it shan’t be.

The older/more complicated your installation of Bonjourr is, the more “precious” it is in the context of the beta program, as it will be more likely to trigger issues.

🫡 The how

  1. Before doing anything else, head to your current installation of Bonjourr and export your settings file. This is the most important step.

  2. On Bonjourr 22’s release page, download the file that matches your browser and unzip it.

  3. Installation

  4. You can now take some time to explore the new version of Bonjourr:

If no is the answer to any of these questions, your mission will be to warn us about it, ideally on the GitHub discussion, but you can also do it via email, Telegram, or Bluesky.

  5. Uninstalling Once you’re done testing things out, you can safely remove the beta version from your browser from the same page you’ve installed it. Some things may break when switching back to Bonjourr 21, just import back your settings file (from step 1) to restore everything.

⚖️ A responsibility notice

Although we do love your feedback, we cannot take responsibility for lost data or broken installations. This is why exporting your settings file before doing anything else is so important: it’s your safety net. Beta test at your own risk!
