For founders who do not want to hire a full time head of product, I will act as a part time CPO, and work with them across strategy, goal setting, execution, go to market, organizational structure, and more. Think of me as someone who can problem solve with you on your key challenges and set up your team for execution, without the baggage of hiring for a full time role.

Details
- Strategy: Work closely with founders to understand their vision and translate it into a clear product strategy.
- How do you make sure you are allocating your resources in the right proportion across core product optimisations and big bets?
- How do you communicate this strategy to your execution team, and ensure that they are bought into the narrative?
- Execution: Once you have a strategy defined, how do you set up the org for execution? This needs to be looked at across a few axes
- Org structure: Is your org set up well to execute your strategy? Have you set up the right people in the right roles and with the right goals?
- Success Definition: Have you defined success with the right metrics and in the right time frame? Are business and product leaders keyed into your goals and do they sign up for their outcomes? (Sometimes this translates into a monthly/quarterly goal setting process.)
- Roadmap creation: Is your roadmap the right mix of ambitious and pragmatic? Does your team understand why items are prioritized in the way they are?
- Measurement: Set up your team to think of product building as a set of inputs, outputs, and outcomes. Ensure each set of inputs and outputs have clear owners.
- Team Coaching: Is your product team leveling up every few quarters, and able to start executing independently? The best case for a product leader is that he becomes redundant in execution over a few quarters. We will set up processes to take the team to this level.
- Execution cadences: Set up sprints, weekly team reviews, once/twice a month CEO reviews which help track towards org goals.
- CEO involvement: Help you build the right muscle and right structure to engage with the product team. How involved should you be, in which projects, and how should you train your team to bring you in where they need the most help?
How will the engagement work?

- Starts off with two weeks (2-3 sessions) of context setting, problem definition, goal setting with founders and key team members.
- I will present an engagement plan (split out over 2 versions) to ensure some level of confidence in hitting defined goals.
