In the past two years I've made over 100 videos and grown for 0 to 20,000 30,000 40,000 50,000 subscribers. Here are the biggest pieces of adve I have for people who want to begin making videos on YouTube. It's a great platform and can really be a strong channel for growing a brand.
The biggest distinction to make on the channel is the focus. Most people will understand this from building audiences and businesses in the past. To me there are three archetypes.
The vlog about life. The value is delivered in consistency and authenticity. This type can be slower to build but offers a great behind the scenes look at your life and the work you're doing. Of course Casey talks about his work a lot, but it's a part of his day and life.
