Malama Health is a mission-driven maternal health company improving outcomes for pregnant and postpartum people through tech-enabled, doula-led care. We partner with Medicaid plans, providers, and communities to deliver whole-person support—combining remote monitoring, care management, and evidence-based programs like the CDC-approved Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP).

We are scaling nationally and are looking for a senior operator and builder to help turn pilots into durable, repeatable business lines.

Role Summary

The Head of Business Development & Special Projects is the CEO’s key partner on growth and execution, responsible for turning early traction into scalable, revenue-generating programs and building the operating models that support them. This role blends strategy, partnerships, and hands-on execution, with direct ownership over multiple lines of business. This role reports directly to the CEO and works cross-functionally with clinical, product, operations, and finance teams. MBA preferred.

What You’ll Do

Commercialize and scale Malama’s postpartum wellness program

• Scale Malama’s postpartum program across additional health plans, geographies, and referral channels
• Refine and execute go-to-market strategy (target segments, pricing, channels, expansion path)
• Translate existing workflows into a clear, repeatable launch and operating playbook
• Build and manage a pipeline of payer, provider, employer, and community partners
• Replicate successful program models across new partners and markets
• Own key performance metrics, including enrollment, conversion, retention, outcomes, cost per member, and partner satisfaction.
