What is MakeOS Cloud Miner?

The Cloud Miner is a service run by the team developing the MakeOS protocol. The service allows the developers to fairly and widely distribute the MakeOS protocol tokens to as many people as possible while allowing the team to raise some fund by renting out cloud mining infrastructure.

What token is being mined?

Dilithium is mined on the cloud mining platform. Dilithium is one of two tokens of the MakeOS protocol. The protocol has two tokens namely Dilithium and Latinum. Dilithium is an energy token created via proof-of-work. Latinum is the governance and staking token of the protocol.

What is Dilithium used for?

On a MakeOS mainnet, it will be used for generating Latinum token, for paying transaction fees and for generating git project tokens. Dilithium mined in the Cloud Miner platform will be used to create the initial supply of Latinum. Read more here.

What is Latinum used for?

Latinum is the governance and staking token for the MakeOS protocol. It is created by burning Dilithium. Network users will use Dilithium for paying for protocol fees, staking, storing value, participating in governance and preventing Dilithium from decaying. Read more here.

How can I mine Dilithium?

You get a free miner by signing up at mine.makeos.org. If you want to mine more and faster you can rent more miners. Check this step-by-step guide to learn how to rent a miner.

What is the Latinum Auction?

The Latinum Auction is a pre-mainnet event where users who have mined and received Dilithium, will have the chance to burn it to mint Latinum. Using a dutch auction system, Dilithium owners will collectively bid for Latinum over a period of time. An auction contract will be deployed on Ethereum to facilitate the process. See mine.makeos.org page to learn more. Check this article to learn about mining and the auction.

Do I need mining hardware or machine?

No. The cloud miner provides online miners that you can rent. See pricing section.

Is KYC required to participate in the Latinum auction?

Yes. Since Latinum will be listed on decentralized exchanges, we will perform KYC to ensure we abide by the regulations of all countries. Citizens of U.S and China who are not accredited investors may not be allowed to enter the auction.

What happens if I cannot join the Latinum Auction?

All Dilithium tokens not used in the auction will be transferrable to the mainnet. These Dilithium supply will be the seed supply for the first year of network operation.
