Do you sell my data in anyway?

No we will never sell your data. We take your privacy and data security extremely seriously and will never give your personal details or those of your members to anyone.

Do any humans read our content?

No. The only time your content may be viewed is when you request support. We’ll ask your permission before doing so and only authorised Lowdown staff will be permitted.

How do you protect my data?

All data is encrypted via SSL/TLS when transmitted from our servers to your browser. Our software infrastructure is updated regularly with the latest security patches. Our products run on a dedicated network which is locked down with firewalls.

Do you retain any personal information?

For your members, we only keep a record of what is needed to send each email digest. That means we store basic user details - name, avatar and email.

We gather data from your registered Slack group for use in email digests. This includes posts from your members in public Slack channels including post content, date and time, replies and reactions. Slack members post content will be compiled and displayed to the creator of each digest. We never gather content from private groups or direct messages.

Due to the way the Slack API is set up, we need to cache Slack messages on a rolling 4 week period in order to create email digests. During this time these messages are stored on our secure servers. No one will read these messages and only verified staff has access to our database. Once messages become older than 4 weeks they are permanently and completed removed from our system.

If a Slack post highlighted in an email digest includes an image, the image is uploaded to a public (but hard to guess URL) as this is the only way to display images in an email. This can be turned off from your app settings.

We collect your members full name, username and email addresses when you connect your Slack account. This is to make it easy for you to offer your members the ability to set up an email digest. We do not use their information for anything else.
