The team was tasked by the NGO OCA-AAPA to redesign their New England branch’s website. Initially, the organization’s website faced problems of lacking professionalism and cohesiveness. To solve this problem, we were asked to rebrand and redesign their website to appear more polished, improve navigation and organization, and entice donations.
The team began with research of other NGOs’ websites, to seek inspiration. Each individual analyzed a website, and overall formulated a chart describing its pros and cons, as well as each NGO’s mission, main message, tone, visual theme, and etc.
From the research, the team put together a chart describing the website’s desired information architecture. Each pair of members focused on a certain page of the entire website to work on.
Then the team moved onto creating new brand guidelines for the website. The team aimed for a professional tone that emphasized the mission and values of this organization. In this process, we organized and decided on the verbal and visual identity of OCA, including logo usages, imagery, color schemes, icons, and typography.
