here are some little bits of foreshadowing and comments i had that i thought were interesting if you'd like to read more <3

The movie scene in chapter one is supposed to reflect later scenes in the third chapter. Jisung watches the character in the movie die, in a similar way Soojin died. He asks the killer, “Why?” in the same way she did. Also, the way Yohan is holding the axe is the same way the killer did in the movie, so it shows here that Jisung still believes Yohan to be the killer (at the time when he saw him in the distance).

Minho straight up admits he likes to see Jisung scared, even though he plays it off as a joke, and Jisung has a reaction to it, showing the way, even though he denies it, he’s unconsciously into it (which happens a lot.) Jisung is in denial the whole time. It’s seen again when Jisung mentions keeping a letter in his pocket, and flinching away from Felix because he knows what he likes is wrong, but he can’t help himself. And the way Jisung kept the ripped-up photo of him sleeping under his floorboards instead of throwing it away. Jisung also does a lot of questionable things, aka. Staying in an apartment that has been broken into, walking home alone at night and not reporting his stalker. A rational person wouldn’t do this, but it hints to Jisung’s true desires as much as he denies it to himself and everyone else. He’s attached to this feeling even though it sickens him at times.

The five x’s the stalker signs off as was supposed to make you wonder if it was Minho or Yohan, since they both have five letters in their names.

When Minho first introduces himself, Jisung never actually gives his name to either Minho or Yohan, so it hints that Minho had already known his name before meeting him. This is later seen when the room in the basement has a picture of him with blonde hair, a year before he met Minho.

Changbin’s mention in the first chapter was so short, but he is part of it all. Minho finds him very helpful.

Number 413 is just a mix-up of 143 and I like the number 13.

Yohan is referred to as a “spider on the wall” by Jeongin in chapter one, and in chapter two, Jisung kills a spider in the bathroom. Jisung also spills red wine all over Yohan, which foreshadows Jisung being the one to kill Yohan in the end.

Minho calls Jisung a bad kitty in chapter two, referencing the same way the stalker letter told Jisung he would have to keep him on a pretty leash (also, shout out to my catgirl fic if you want actual leashed kitty Jisung <3)

Minho mentions coming to the Mountain to have an escape and how he has a set of keys, hinting that Minho has free range to come here whenever he likes.

Jisung's focus on the way both Minho and Yohan use the knives at the dinner table was to show that they were both possible suspects of being the stalker/killer.

There’s the hint of the door opening slightly and the footsteps outside that allude to someone watching them for a second whilst they were in the middle of some good fuckin’.

This wasn’t planned, but I liked my friend cloud’s interpretation that Jisung was unsatisfied with the taste of ‘boring water’, showing that he craves more than a simple type of life, and he’s looking for something more thrilling and exciting.

This paragraph in chapter two: He looks at himself in the mirror, and he looks… good. Surprisingly better than he would’ve expected. Just slightly tired, but his cheeks are rosy and his skin looks healthy. His bangs framing his face just right. The eye bags below his eyes don’t attract more attention than the warmth and wariness of his own eyes. And Jisung smiles at his reflection, it’s small and tentative but it’s there, despite where they are. The Minho effect, Jisung concludes.

It is repeated in chapter three, but with Jisung seeing himself in a new light: He looks at himself in the mirror, the blood splattered across the left side of his face, some more smudged under his right eye, dried tear tracks leaving a path through the blood. There’s a cut on his jaw, bruised from when he’d fallen. His brown hair is a bird's nest, his bangs matted with dried blood. And Jisung’s scared, scared of what he sees because there’s a light in his eyes and a smile that beams back at him even through the sting as it pulls on the cut on his bottom lip. The Minho effect, Jisung concludes.

In the flashback, Minho is the one to hand Jisung his phone before he sees that he has no new messages. Take from that whatever way you like :)

This line is just a little hint to Minho’s past (one day I will write it all up): “No– Minho. We all know the truth… because of your silly infatuation, what… what happened to–,” Soojin takes a breath, “You… The audacity you–”

This refers to why Yohan has done some of the things he has before now (will explored more one day too): “You can’t say shit because you’re nothing but a puppet, following him around, following his toy around like a lost puppy. You’re pathetic Yohan, always second best. That’s all you’ll ever be.”
