Abstract

Only limited information is readily available about the fleet carrier decommissioning process. These experiments were designed to record in detail the extent to which the decommissioning process affects normal carrier function, and to discover more information about the fate of stored ships, modules and cargo of both the owner and guests docked at the time of decommission.

Numerous inconsistencies with in-game documentation were discovered at all stages of the decommissioning process.

Preparation

The lightly-used Drake class fleet carrier Extravagance (H2T-LHV, Brewer Corporation), owned by CMDR JonAltriani (alt account of JonSatriani), was parked in orbit of the primary star of HIP 103311, an inhabited system in the Bubble offering carrier administration services.

The carrier had shipyard and outfitting installed, with test packages bought and modified.
