Meditation is a single word that holds many different practices, we can think of it as similar to the word ‘sport’ which contains hundreds of different activities. Not only are there many different types of meditation, there are also many different ways to meditate, and reasons for meditating.

My interpretation of Meditation is as a practice for training the mind.

Meditation sits us on a cushion where we can observe the incessant, spontaneous, and yet transient nature of our thoughts. Once we see how they pull our strings, we can begin the work of calming our mind, and bringing clarity and intention to our lives.
