Spontaneously joined an online competition

In Quarantine™ May, I joined the Design Buddies Discord Channel to check out the online design community. Within 24 hours, I connected with two designers, bonded over our love for eggs, and signed up to compete in Adobe Creative Jam as Team Meringue.

So, what was our challenge?

🎮 People are gaming to stay connected during COVID-19

Verizon has reported an increase of gaming traffic up to 75% since March 2020. Due to the loneliness of quarantine, people of all ages are getting into gaming to stay connected and occupied.

🤯 There are too many games, genres, and platforms

According to [GamingShift](https://gamingshift.com/how-many-video-games-exist/#:~:text=After doing some research%2C our, games for the Nintendo Switch.), there are over 1.1M games spanning from multiple genres and platforms.

Why is this a problem?

People who want to get into gaming don't know where to start because they are overwhelmed with so many choices.

Paradox of Choice. Too many options make it hard for users to pick.

🤔 So...

How might we help people discover games without overwhelming them?

And when people start playing games...

How might we help people connect with other gamers?
