ingredients:
- [ ] 1 loaf french bread
- [ ] 1 block parmesan (1/4 cup)
- [ ] 4 stems of basil (1/3 cup basil)
- [ ] 1 tsp. salt
- [ ] 1 tsp. black pepper
- [ ] 7 roma (plum) tomatoes
- [ ] 4 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- [ ] 3 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
- [ ] 1/4 pickled onion
directions:
- preheat oven to 350* F, broil bread until golden on both sides (4-6 minutes and then flip over for another 5 minutes).
- sauté garlic after you mince it with olive oil, then set aside to let cool.
- chiffonade the basil leaves and dice tomatoes, add into a bowl with salt, pepper, and balsamic vinegar.
- add tomato mixture and garlic on top of toasted bread (optional: swipe a garlic clove onto the toasted bread before adding the tomato mixture).
- garnish with parmesan and pickled onions (optional).
