Jason Chan

UX Lead at Refinitive Labs

I'm Jason Chan - human centered researcher and designer. I'm an expat here - originally from Australia.

I'm currently UX Lead at Refinitiv Labs, where we incubate new product ideas for consumers of financial data in capital markets and large corporations. My current role involves alot of discovery, ideation, prototyping and testing of new concepts.

My experience covers a broad swathe of design - I've worked agency and client side, I have done service design, UX strategy, Lean/Agile, design execution. Over the last 3 years I've held design lead roles with in-house design teams - looking after teams from 2 to 10.

I enjoy coaching and mentoring designers - working collaboratively to choose design practices that are fit for purpose and that put user centered design at their heart. I have a broader background in Tech so think deeply about how to bring research and design into (generally!) harmonious co-existence within cross functional product teams.

I did a masters in human centered design in City University, London and learnt my craft there. I'm interested not just in UX design in general but in behavioural /cognitive psychology and information visualisation.

Rose Marie Tan

Product Designer, Design Team Lead, Pigeonhole Live

Hi, I’m Rose! Coming from a background in computing, I made the transition to UI/UX and product design early on and currently have 6 years of experience designing for Pigeonhole Live, an audience engagement SaaS product.

As a designer, I consider myself mostly a generalist, having been involved in many stages of design, including requirement gathering, creating high-level user flows, visual design, illustration, prototyping and UI copywriting. Occasionally, I also work on creating and maintaining our internal design system.

In the process of growing the design team from just myself to a team of 5, I have been actively involved in hiring, setting up and facilitating internal processes, managing projects and resources, and providing design direction and feedback. I have come to value the importance of good communication and to appreciate the intricacies of making trade-offs, whether in design projects or in management.

Outside of work, I love playing music and performing in orchestra.
